The Board of Trustees Presidential Search Committee unanimously selected Greenwood/Asher and Associates on Monday, Jan. 12 to assist the university in identifying the fifth president of FIU.

Headquartered in Miramar Beach, Florida, Greenwood/Asher is led by two former university presidents, Jan Greenwood and Betty Asher. The firm has handled a number of recent presidential searches at institutions that include the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Austin, and Washington State University.

“We are pleased to welcome Drs. Greenwood and Asher to our team,” said David Parker, chair of the BOT and Presidential Search Committee. “My colleagues on the Search Committee and I feel that their experience and understanding of FIU’s environment, together with their willingness to personally work with us through this process, make them the best fit for us.”

In the last few weeks, the BOT received proposals from 12 firms. They were reviewed and evaluated according to technical information, experience, past performance, key personnel and fee schedule.

The university is also in the process of creating a special Web site that will be dedicated to the presidential search. Check back for updates on when the site will be available.
