What do you enjoy most about your job? Well, first I love working with the IT Security Office team, they are all so incredibly smart and talented and are such a joy to be with on a daily basis. Next, I love presenting IT Security Awareness presentations because you can see the light go on in people’s eyes when they realize that they do have some control over such issues as identity theft. Finally, I very much enjoy strategizing the next steps for FIU IT Security.
What do you think faculty/staff/students should know about your department? That we are here to help with all IT security matters. Please contact us at security@fiu.edu. We also want people to know that we will come and do IT Security Awareness presentations for their organizations.
Where is your favorite spot on campus? Why? My office at BBC. It is about the only place that I can work on documentation and policy and catch up on email. Plus the BBC campus is so beautiful.
If there’s one thing you wish everyone knew about FIU, what would it be? I would want them to know that FIU is a great place to work. The people here are great and it really does have an international feel. If you love diversity like I do it’s awesome.

Cheryl,
I enjoyed reading your profile, especially on the comment about your husband being your only child. LOL. My first real job was also working at Burger King in high school. We have something in common. Cheryl, you are lovely person and I am glad that I have the chance to know a little bit more about you.
It is fun working with Cheryl, and I agree with Dan in that she brightens up wherever she goes. Cheryl, keep up the good work in keeping us secure. Gloria
