Joint graduate degree doubles career opportunities


FIU’s first student to graduate with an MBA-JD joint degree reflects upon the benefits of pursuing the rigorous course of study.

With two years of law school completed, Alexander Greenwood (MBA-JD ’08), an operations consultant with Smile South Florida, decided to go for the MBA-JD joint degree offered by the College of Law and the College of Business Administration. In December 2008, when he became the first person to graduate with the joint degree, he could look back on the benefits he gained by putting in just one more year of full-time coursework. And now, a second student, Marlon Greenwood, is on his way to achieving the same advantages: sharpening skills, broadening his background and gaining a competitive edge.
