What do you enjoy most about your job? I enjoy meeting new people; when it comes down to their benefits, I enjoy giving employees the comfort of knowing I am here to help them.
What do you think faculty/staff/students should know about your department? Even though we are HR, we are here to assist you with any situation. When you walk into our department, you feel the family atmosphere.
Where is your favorite spot on campus? Why? I love the areas around the lakes because they offer such beauty and they’re peaceful.
If there’s one thing you wish everyone knew about FIU, what would it be? Regardless of the budget cuts, FIU is truly a family-oriented place that cares about their employees.
Word that best describes you: Sincere
First paying job: My first job was as a receptionist for H & R Block.
Favorite TV show: “Law and Order” (all)
Your proudest accomplishment: I am a foster mom. My proudest accomplishment is when I see the difference I have made in a child’s life and seeing a smile on their face.
What do you do when you’re not working at FIU? I am a football fanatic. When I’m not working, I’m either attending or watching football games during the season; off season, I love fishing (the water) traveling and reading.

Theresa is a true gem! Always available and patient, she truly does a tremendous job for all new hires! I was extremely lucky to have come in contact with her during my new hiring process. A pleasure to see her recognized through this portal!
