Congratulations to Tom Ebert, who was named the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week. Ebert was also named one of RecruitingCloser.com’s Pitchers of the Week for the second time this season.

The 6-6 righty from North Dakota was spectacular on the hill for FIU on March 7, tossing a complete-game shutout against Troy, the preseason No.2 team in the conference. In the nine innings of work, Ebert struck out nine and didn’t walk anyone. The Golden Panthers won the game 1-0 as FIU took two games in the three-game series. 

In 15.2 innings of work this season, Ebert has not allowed a run or given up a walk. He has struck out 18 batters.
