FIU will host on Friday, April 17, a multicultural fundraising reception and silent auction to benefit its SAGE (Scholarships Awarding Global Excellence) program, which is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services (MPAS).

The program provides scholarships to talented international and transfer students to aid them in defraying the costs of a college education at FIU. Students are judged based on their academic merit and their organizational involvement.

The event is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. in the WUC Ballrooms at Biscayne Bay Campus. Admission is $20 for faculty/staff and the outside community and $5 for students. Tickets are available at MPAS office at BBC located in WUC 253 and at University Park in GC 216.

School of Hospitality and Tourism Management associate professor Steven Moll will serve as the reception’s master of ceremonies. The evening will feature SAGE’s scholarship award presentation, as well as a silent auction with items such as a 3-day/2-night stay at Double Tree Ocean Point Resort and Spa, a $1,600 valued gift certificate for Dolphin Stadium and a signed Miami Dolphin football.

For more information on the event, contact Dorret Sawyers or Sonya Robinson in the MPAS office at BBC at 305-919-5817.
