As a founding faculty member (July, 1972), I have been in love (for nearly 40 years) with founding President Chuck Perry’s “Manifesto” entiltled: “The Making of a University and Plans for Its Development”. I retired in 2002 but have continued to follow the course of this wonderful university. I wish you the very best in your stewardship of The University. The slogan “FIU in ‘72″ that drove us to excel back then now seems only a heartbeat. I’m re-energized and reminded all over again by the passing of the torch to your able hands.
