More than just going green

FIU Earth Week kicked off five days of events with a two-hour forum on Monday, “Focus on Energy.” The week-long series of events is intended to educate people about the planet we live on and the changes it has been going through. Throughout the week, members of the community will join in activities such as cleaning up the FIU Preserve, participating in forum discussions and a hosting a green career fair, which will wrap up the week of events on Friday, April 10.

Earth Week is organized by Students for Environmental Action (SEA), a group dedicated to education, encouraging appreciation for the environment and improving sustainability on campus.

“The main goal of the Earth Week is to provide information and resources to students, faculty and staff to learn about local and global environmental issues,” said Ryan Vogel, member of SEA.

All events are free and open to the public. Free food and prizes will be provided.
