Friday night’s alright for star-watching

July 21 2

Professor James Webb will host a Star Party at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 24, at Modesto A. Maidique Campus. Guests meeting in CP 145 also will be able to see Jupiter and Saturn through 12” and 10” telescopes, as well as enjoy light (non-alcoholic) beverages.

The astronomy professor has been hosting these parties for several years now. An enthusiastic musician, Webb also performs for the crowd of Golden Panthers and friends that regularly attends.

Attendance at this particular Star Party will support the construction of FIU’s Astrophysics Center.

For more information on the center, contact Lillian Abreu at 305-348-0130 or labreu@fiu.edu.
