A group of eleven FIU students participated in 2009 Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference in California June 20-24.

Last month, the FIU Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FIU FBLA-PBL) team competed in the 2009 Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference held in Anaheim, Calif.

FIU Phi Beta Lambda president Jose Betancourt took first place in the Public Speaking competition.

The FIU FBLA-PBL chapter won third place in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report (Chapter) category, while Yanyn San-Luis, a political science student, was named the Who’s Who in PBL 2008-’09 recipient for Florida.

“FIU FBLA-PBL has progressed in its second attendance to the national leadership conference,” said Betancourt, a business administration and management student.

“We represented FIU and most importantly, the College of Business and surpassed all expectations. We are growing not only as an organization, but also as ambassadors of CBA and the university, whose support has helpedĀ us become a successful organization and continue to grow as future business leaders.”
