Class of 1984 to be honored at Silver Pride Reunion

The FIU Alumni Association will honor the Class of 1984 and past classes at the Nov. 14 Silver Pride Reunion, a day of celebrating old memories and building Panther Pride. The annual event is held during Homecoming Weekend to give alumni an opportunity to reconnect with old classmates and professors and make new friends.

The Silver Pride Reunion begins at noon with a luncheon at the FIU Football Stadium Club. Class of 1984 and earlier alumni will be honored with induction into Silver Pride and presentation with a Silver Pride Medallion. Lunch will be followed by a group photo and tours of the Modesto Maidique campus.

The reunion will continue at the newly opened Frost Art Museum where FIU’s colleges and schools will each have a table to share news of their progress. To make the reunion extra special, Invitations to the celebration have been extended to former FIU professors. Also invited are parents of current FIU students who will be on campus for the FIU Parent and Family Weekend. Together, alumni, faculty, parents and students will enjoy a champagne toast.

Tickets to the Silver Pride Reunion include admission to the 5 p.m. Panther Pit Tailgate and the Homecoming Football Game vs. North Texas at 7 p.m. During the game, there will be a special alumni acknowledgement for reunion attendees. Tickets are $10 per person for Alumni Association members and $15 for non-members.

Please RSVP by Oct. 30 by calling 305-348-0159 or 1-800-FIU-ALUM or by emailing Elena Balsinde ’06 in the Office of Alumni Relations at ebalsinde@fiu.edu.
