Funds raised for Dr. José A. Marqués Endowment to support criminal justice students


The FIU President’s Council and Secure Wrap, a Miami-based corporation specializing in check-in baggage security, hosted “Vintage Cuban,” a private fundraising event to benefit the Dr. José A. Marqués Endowment, on Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Rafael Diaz-Balart Hall.

The endowment was created in honor of Dr. José A. Marqués to ensure that qualified students are financially able to pursue a higher education degree as well as support FIU students in the Department of Criminal Justice and the College of Law in perpetuity.

Henry Ramos and Radames Villalon from Secure Wrap donated $20,000 to sponsor the event. That night they also pledged $10,000 to the endowment to continue the Marqués legacy of inspiring future criminal justice professionals.
