Honors College, Tau Sigma Alpha host “A Conversation with Edwidge Danticat”

The author and MacArthur “Genius” met with children from the Overtown Youth Center and Golden Panthers at BBC on Sept. 30.

The Honors College and Tau Sigma Alpha, the Honors College Honors Society, hosted “A Conversation with Edwidge Danticat” Sept. 30 at the Mary Ann Wolfe Theater at Biscayne Bay Campus.

The author and new MacArthur “Genius” discussed her work, which focuses primarily on Haiti and Haitian culture, with children from the Overtown Youth Center and Golden Panthers.

Danticat also shared her impressions from the Conference of the Americas held in Coral Gables the day before and answered questions from the audience, including what she likes most about living in Miami.
