Panthers may apply now to become 2010 Orientation Peer Advisors


Peer advisor information sessions are being held at MMC and BBC. Applications are due Nov. 16.

Currently enrolled students are encouraged to apply to become 2010 FIU Preview Orientation Peer Advisors.

Oct 22Orientation Peer Advisors are a select group of Panthers who provide service to the university, assisting with all new student orientation programs throughout their year-long position – beginning in January 2010 and ending in December – as well as other programs for new students and their families.

Candidates applying for the positions must be currently enrolled at FIU. They must have completed at least 12 credit hours after the ongoing fall semester, and a minimum cumulative 2.3 GPA at the time of application, as well as a minimum 2.5 semester and cumulative GPA after Fall 2009.

The next Peer Advisors information session is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., in GC 305 at Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC). Students at Biscayne Bay Campus may stop by WUC 140 for information.

Additional information sessions at MMC are set for Oct. 30, Nov. 2, Nov. 4 and Nov. 12.

Applications are available at FIU Jobs (listed as Orientation Peer Advisor) and must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 16.
