Panthers remain unbeaten in SBC action with 14th straight win


The volleyball team wrapped up its home play for the month of October with wins over Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas State Oct. 23-24. The Panthers will be on the road until Nov. 11 when they return to U.S. Century Bank to face Florida Gulf Coast.

FIU’s volleyball team secured its 14th straight win Oct. 24 as the Panthers defeated Arkansas State, 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-15), at U.S. Century Bank Arena at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

The Panthers improved to 21-2 on the season and remain unbeaten in Sun Belt Conference action at 11-0.

The win came on the heels of a five-set victory over UALR on Oct. 23 when the Panthers defeated the Trojans, 3-2 (25-13, 25-20, 22-25, 22-25, 16-14) at FIU’s Dig Pink game at MMC.

FIU will return to action Oct. 30-31 when the Panthers hit the road to face SBC Western Division-leading New Orleans and ULM, respectively.
