Campbell’s seminal work, “The China Study,” is the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition conducted in the last 40 years.
As part of the Joan and Harry B. Smith Lecture Series, the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine will host T. Colin Campbell, the director of the China-Oxford-Cornell Diet and Health Project, at Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) on Friday, Oct. 16.
The Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University, Campbell has studied the effects of nutrition on long-term health for more than 40 years. In 2005, he published “The China Study,” in which he examined the relationship between the consumption of animal products and illnesses such as cancer.
He also has actively participated in the development of national and international nutrition policy.
The lecture, “Nutrition: A Major Missing Link in Medical Practice,” is scheduled for 1 p.m. in the MARC Pavilion at MMC. The event is free and open to the public.
