There’s still time to support the 2009 FIU-United Way campaign

Four weeks into this year’s FIU-United Way campaign, the university is halfway to its $300,000 goal thanks to the generosity of the FIU community.

If you haven’t already contributed to the 2009 campaign, there’s still time. Click here to visit the university’s United Way page and here to donate online. If you’d like to sign up for payroll deduction, please note that your deduction will not begin until January 2010.

The FIU-United Way campaign wraps up Friday, Dec. 4, with an auction and recognition event in the Graham Center Ballrooms. The silent auction begins at 4 p.m. and the live auction gets underway at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to the event are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.

FIU’s partnership with United Way of Miami-Dade County is another opportunity for the university community to come together to improve the lives of those who live, work and raise their families in this community. This includes members of the FIU family, like Theresa Wright, benefits coordinator in human resources, who has benefited directly from United Way contributions to local agencies.
