FIU women’s soccer will play one of the top-ranked teams in the world, the Canadian women’s national team, Friday, Nov. 13. The Canadian team is in South Florida preparing for the 2010 Women’s World Cup qualifications.

Team Canada is currently ranked 13th in the world and remains the second-ranked team with the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) behind the United States.

SBC regular-season champions, the women of FIU soccer saw their historic season end Nov. 4 in the first round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament. University of Arkansas-Little Rock scored in the first minute-and-a-half of overtime for a 1-0 win. The Panthers finished the year at 11-6-3, the most wins by the program since 2001.

Friday’s exhibition game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn and Suites Sports Complex in Sunrise, Fla.
