Holiday Celebration to benefit needy children in Miami-Dade County

WHAT: More than 100 underprivileged kids from schools throughout Miami-Dade County, along with their teachers and principals, will participate in the 17th Annual Holiday Celebration for Children. Hundreds of community sponsors and FIU employees will also participate in the festivities, which include lunch, a visit to a makeshift toyshop, a scholarship drive, children’s performances, and a special surprise for all of the kids.

WHO: The holiday celebration is hosted by FIU’s Division of Student Affairs. Administrators, faculty, staff and students will serve as volunteers for the event. FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg, Vice President of Student Affairs Rosa Jones and FIU Police Chief Bill King, who is this year’s Holiday Celebration chairman, will also be there to welcome the kids.
