Artist Romero Britto to discuss “The Art of Happiness” at FIU

WHAT:  World-renowned artist Romero Britto will be discussing his art, often referred to as the “The Art of Happiness”, at a lecture at Florida International University. Britto is known for his colorful and inspiring creations, as well as his business acumen and talent in marketing and promotion which continues to increase his international visibility. He has been tapped to bring his unique visual interpretation to brands such as Absolut, Disney, Movado, Campari, Pepsi, Evian and Audi.  

WHO: A modern day pop culture icon, Britto creates contemporary masterpieces that evoke a spirit of hope and convey a sense of warmth.  Embraced by the international community, Britto’s paintings and sculptures are currently featured on five continents in more than 100 hundred galleries. One of his original paintings, “Journey”, premiered on December 11, 2008 in the prestigious Salon Nationale Des Beaux-Arts 2008 at the Louvre Museum. Britto has also been invited multiple times as a speaker at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and was commissioned to paint the largest art installation ever in Hyde Park, London, a 45-foot-tall pyramid to commemorate the return of the King Tutankhamen exhibit to England.  He also created two commemorative stamp collections for the United Nations Postal Administration, one in 1999 in homage to education and the other recently in 2008 in honor of the XXIX Olympic Games in Beijing, China.  Britto donates to more than 300 charitable organizations and is committed to developing and supporting the powerful role art plays in world issues.
