Student Literary Awards accepting submissions

Submissions will be accepted until Feb. 16 at 4 p.m.

The 2010 Student Literary Awards currently are accepting submissions in three genres: poetry, fiction and creative nonfiction. The deadline for consideration is Monday, Feb. 16, at 4 p.m. – no late entries will be accepted.

Panthers interested in entering should submit their prose typed and double-spaced. Poetry should be single-spaced.

Participants may enter more than one category, although only one entry per person in the fiction and creative nonfiction categories is allowed. Each piece must not exceed 7,500 words. Poetry submissions are limited to three per candidate and must not exceed 250 lines total.

Candidates should submit two copies of their works, each of which should have a cover page with their contact information, among other requirements. For additional details, please call 305-919-5857.

Prizes will be offered in two divisions: graduate (i.e., MFA Program in Creative Writing students) and undergraduate (i.e., all other candidates). Each category carries a $50 first prize and a $25 honorable mention prize.
