Free discount prescription program — the Rx Well Card

The Division of Human Resources is now offering employees the Rx Well Card, an opportunity for employees, family members, retirees and friends to obtain additional savings on prescription and limited non-prescription drugs.

What is it?

The Rx Well Card provides users with discounts on prescription and non-prescription drugs at more than 58,000 participating pharmacies. Users can save 10 percent to 85 percent immediately on the cost of most brand-name and generic drugs. This discount program is not sponsored by any insurance company. With the Rx Well Card there are:

  • No costs to obtain a card — it’s free!
  • No obligations
  • No limits on the number of times the card can be used

How do I get one?

There are two ways to obtain a card: printing a card from FIU’s Benefits Web site or picking one up in the Division of Human Resources (PC 224 at MMC or LIB 322-A at BBC).

How does the card work?

Once you have your card, use the Pharmacy Locator and Medication Pricing tools to find a pharmacy closest to you and one that offers the lowest prices for your medication.

Can I use the Rx Well Card instead of my regular university-sponsored prescription plan?

Yes. You can use either card depending upon which one will grant you more savings. It is your responsibility as a consumer to do the comparisons.
