They are 106 of thousands of recent FIU graduates.

Each hails from a different area of the state, the country, the world…each has a story to tell, a future to discover, a life to live. Now, they all can do so with an official FIU Ring on their finger.

They are the proud and brand new FIU alumni who participated in the first annual FIU Ring ceremony, presented by the FIU Alumni Association and Herff Jones, April 23 in the GC Ballrooms at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

For the recipients and their family members, the evening represented the culmination of years of hard work and a true celebration.

“We loved the ceremony. It was very nice and fun,” said Dyan Cruz ’09, who graduated last fall but signed up to be among the first to receive an FIU ring. “[Graduating] is a great accomplishment,” added her friend and fellow health science graduate Barbara Diaz ’09. “Every little milestone counts.”
