“Gulf Stream” hits the virtual stands with poetry, fiction and non-fiction

The latest issue of Gulf Stream, FIU’s student-run online literary magazine, is now available. You can read it here.

“It’s a very strong issue,” said editor Peter Borrebach, who just graduated from the MFA program in Creative Writing. “We have some well known poets.”

Gulf Stream is produced biannually by graduate student in FIU’s renowned Creative Writing MFA program. Each semester the magazine receives about 500 submissions of poetry, fiction and non-fiction from writers around the world. Section editors and teams of students read the submissions and select the pieces for print.

The new issue features works by several published writers including poet Jan Beatty, who directs the creative writing program at Carlow University, and novelist Connie May Fowler. There is also a Q&A with National Book Award finalist Dan Chaon and a new section called “The Streamline,” with thoughts on literature.
