The new parking garage on S.W. 8th Street will feature six new restaurants, classrooms and cyber café.
Chick-fil-A, Moe’s and Papa John’s will be coming to campus with the Aug. 23 opening of the new parking garage on the north side of campus. Known as PG5 Market Station, the parking garage will also have a Dunkin’ Donuts and Salad Creations. Opening later this fall in Market Station will be a Freshens, which serves smoothies and yogurt.
The ground floor of the seven-story building will feature a dining hub with indoor and outdoor seating for 310 and a CyberCafé with wi-fi and televisions.
In addition, Market Station will have three classrooms for up to 360 students. The classrooms are state-of-the art with big screens for distance learning and stadium seating.
The upper levels will have 2,000 parking spaces. There will also be short-term parking spaces off of 8th Street so FIU commuters can pop in, grab something to eat and go.
With a modern look accented by brushed aluminum and steel, the new facility will offer a subdued alternative to the Graham Center. Eventually, it will serve as a hub for the Academic Health Sciences Center that is being built in the northeast quadrant of the campus.
“Market Station not only expands our breadth of services but offers a unique haven for students, faculty and staff to eat, gather, and relax,” said Jeff Krablin, associate vice president for Business Services, which oversees the university’s retail and business agreements.
All of the new Market Station restaurants will be included in the university’s dining plans. FIU faculty, staff and students can enjoy significant discounts at Market Station and all university restaurants by enrolling at pantherdining.com

Very exciting!
Interesting. Lets hope parking is improved this semester. I've always dreamed of the day where I could just go to school, park and go to class without spending 15 minutes looking for a parking spot
AWESOME! Can't wait! FIU keeps getting better and better!
Why must junk food be promoted? College students need to be taught what processed meat and fried dough covered in sugar and artificial coloring does to their bodies and future quality of life. America's heart disease and diabetes rates keep increasing and so does the profit of the cheap food industry. Come on people, take care of yourselves and refuse to eat the garbage that is placed in front of you! Food and Education are a business like any other. They're not interested in the well-being of their customers. The only thing that matters to them is that their consumers continue to purchase their products. Whether they poison you or not, is of no concern to them. Take initiative and learn the effects these foods and beverages have on your life.
Moe's is actually not too bad for you if you don't pile your burrito up with sour cream, extra cheese, dip the chips in queso and go all out, so to speak.nnBut yes, having more healthy food options on campus would rock. Hopefully this Salad Creations place has some nice fruit bowls or something, instead of just unhealthy fast food salads. (It was still closed when I stopped in today)
