New student orientation welcomes nearly 2,500 to FIU

The Office of Orientation and Commuter Student Services welcomed nearly 2,500 freshmen and transfer students to campus this summer.

During the two-day orientation program, students, who will begin classes in the fall, received information about the curriculum and academic requirements. Accompanied by approximately 900 parents and guests, the new Panthers then toured the campus and met with an academic advisor to learn more about campus life.
