FIU’s Americas Venture Capital Conference: August 15 deadline for presenters

MIAMI – Innovative companies doing business in Latin America and South Florida have six days remaining to apply for a golden opportunity: Presenting at the 2010 Americas Venture Capital Conference in Miami. The selected companies will be invited to present directly to venture capital firms looking to develop strategic alliances. The deadline to apply is Sunday, August 15, 2010.

“Our Latin-American focus is a first for an American venture capital conference, and we have had a strong response to our call for companies,” said Conference Chair Irma Becerra-Fernandez, director of the Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center at FIU. “We want to make sure companies in our community have the chance to apply for this game-changing opportunity.”

FedEx Express Latin America & Caribbean, one of the conference sponsors, has announced that it will award vouchers for FedEx Express shipping services to several of the presenting ventures: $3,000 USD to the winning venture, $2,000 for second place, and $1,000 for third.
