FIU, can you hear them? Golden Idol is back!

Golden Idol, FIU’s own version of TV’s American Idol, is back for another round of audition leading up to the Oct. 6 finals in the GC Ballrooms at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

FIU student Vicky Lopez won Golden Idol in 2009. On Sept. 8, she was on hand for the first round of 2010 auditions, singing Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You."

The next round of auditions is set for Friday, Sept. 17, so warm up your voice, pick a winning song and head out to the GC Pit with all your friends.

Participants are encouraged to pre-register for Golden Idol auditions by calling 305-348-2149 or stopping by GC 2210.

The more students sign up, the more fans will come out to cheer on them at the finals on Oct. 6 and the more money will be raised for Miami Children’s Hospital (Golden Idol is a precursor event to FIU Dance Marathon).
