FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine students to begin innovative program and clinical rotations at LMC facilities

MIAMI – Leon Medical Centers (LMC), a leading healthcare provider for Medicare patients in Miami-Dade County, alongside its academic partner, Florida International University (FIU) will host a kick off celebration September 20, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. at its Bird Road Center located at 11501 SW 40th Street to welcome medical students of FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine who will begin clinical rotations at LMC. 

The event will mark the initiation of the students’ clinical training in comprehensive evaluation, treatment and management of elderly patients. This training is the first of its kind in this setting and will impact medical care in our community and help shape the future of healthcare delivery.
