FIU Law ranked Top 10 Best Value school

Also ranked 3rd in state for scholarly impact by national Leiter Rankings

MIAMI – Florida International University College of Law was ranked Top 10 Best Value school in the nation by The National Jurist.

The Best Value rating is based on the following three criteria:  bar passage rate, average indebtedness after graduation, and employment nine months after graduation.

The National Jurist ranking comes on the heels of a recently released study by the Leiter Rankings of the scholarly impact of faculties at all law schools accredited by the American Bar Association, where FIU College of Law ranked 3rd among Florida law schools.

R. Alexander Acosta, dean of the FIU College of Law, said that these rankings reflect the school’s excellence in education and scholarship.

“As we approach the 10th anniversary of our founding, we are proud that our faculty has so quickly joined those of UF and FSU as one of the three most impactful law faculties in the state of Florida,” he said. “We are proud too that we continue our mission, as South Florida’s public law school, to ensure that our students receive a superb legal education without the crushing debt burden too often faced by law students at other schools. FIU College of Law is truly Worlds Ahead.”

According to the Leiter Rankings, the College of Law has already made a scholarly impact that dramatically outpaces its academic reputation.
