Highlights from FIU vs. WKU game


FIU football started Sun Belt Conference play with a 28-21 victory over the WKU Hilltoppers Oct. 9 at FIU Stadium.

Fans started game day early at the new Panther Pit Tailgate, enjoying free face painting and video games by Games on Wheels, as well as taking photos under the giant inflatable Panther arch.

Halftime featured two special recognitions. Cancer survivor Brunhilde “Pupi” Tomassini, senior secretary in FIU’s International Forensic Research Institute, was honored with a pink football signed by the team and head coach Mario Cristobal.

Also, the 2010 nominees for FIU Service and Recognition Awards were recognized. The nominees were given complimentary club seats to the game.

The Panthers are back on the road this week as they travel to Denton, Texas, to face the Mean Green of North Texas.
