See the world in blue and gold during Homecoming Week Nov. 1-6

The Homecoming game has been pushed back to 7:30 p.m. in order to be televised on the Sun Belt Network.

Homecoming 2010 will be the biggest in FIU history with a week of student events building excitement for Homecoming Day “Panthermonium.”

The slate of activities offers something for everyone in the FIU community, said Vice President of Student Affairs Rosa Jones.

“Homecoming is really an opportunity for the entire university community to come together to celebrate our accomplishments and celebrate our pride for this wonderful institution,” she said. “This year promises to be bigger than ever, with activities for students, faculty/staff, families, returning alumni, parents and retirees.”

This year’s Homecoming features a new headliner event —  a free, live concert by Lifehouse before the Saturday’s football game. The FIU Student Government Association is sponsoring the concert for the entire FIU family.

“We’re hearing a lot from students being very excited,” junior Alex Parayuelos, chair of the Homecoming Committee. “It adds up to everyone being proud to be a Golden Panther. With Homecoming, we are forwarding the image that we are a great institution.”

The fun kicks off with the Homecoming Pep Rally Monday, Nov. 6 at noon in the Graham Center pit at MMC and Wolfe Center Panther Square at BBC.
