Bowl champs!

FIU faithful have been waiting for this moment for eight years. On Dec. 26, in front of a national audience and in its first-ever bowl appearance, FIU pulled off an amazing comeback and returned from Detroit 2010 Little Caesars Pizza Bowl champions.

Down 21-7 at halftime, the Panthers clawed their way back. An 89-yard return from T.Y. Hilton, followed by an interception from Kreg Brown and another touchdown run from Darriet Perry ended the third quarter with a score of 24-21.

The key play of the game was a fourth down conversion of 17 yards by T.Y. Hilton late in the fourth quarter; the Panthers were behind 33-32. And then, with only four seconds left on the clock, Jack Griffin kicked a 34-yard field goal sealing the comeback.

After the game, ESPN sportscasters said, “This may turn out to be the best bowl game of the season.”

To help fans relive the entire bowl experience, the news.FIU.edu team has compiled all the coverage of the historic game here. Enjoy!
