Southbound Turnpike’s S.W. 8th Street exit ramp (eastbound) to close for 10 days beginning Feb. 4

News.fiu.edu thought you should know: As part of the ongoing construction activities for the Florida Turnpike’s conversion to all-electronic tolling, the eastbound S.W. 8th Street exit ramp from the southbound Turnpike will be closed from 9 p.m. on February 4 to 6 a.m. on February 14. Drivers on the southbound Turnpike wanting to proceed eastbound on S.W. 8th Street will be detoured to the exit ramp on S.W. 40th Street (Bird Road) and then north along S.W. 117th Avenue to access eastbound S.W. 8th Street.

Once construction is finished, the electronic toll collection system will be in place permanently at the S.W. 8th Street exit ramp of the Turnpike and the option to pay a cash toll at this exit will no longer be available.
