2 Seconds for $100,000 in Scholarships

Pepsi was looking for fresh ideas to facilitate significant community impact. They found it at FIU.

FIU’s First Generation Scholarship Fund has been accepted as a Pepsi Refresh project. Now the university needs your help to secure the grant.

To receive $50,000 from Pepsi, which would be matched by the State of Florida 100 percent for a total impact of $100,000, FIU needs the entire university community to vote by text and/or web. Individuals can vote daily, so we’re encouraging you to make this part of your routine for the rest of the month of January – and tell your friends and family to do the same.

Your votes can help the university provide access to higher education and ensure success for students who are the first generation in their families to earn a college degree. Given that 86 percent of FIU’s incoming freshmen receive financial aid, and nearly 40 percent of the student body is first-generation students, this is a great opportunity to fill a critical need.
