“We have an unbeatable combination. Both Mr. Maury and Mr. Adler are proven business and community leaders and they are deeply admired by our university community,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg.

Maury, who holds bachelor’s degrees in business administration and accounting from FIU, was appointed as an FIU trustee in 2007. He was reappointed by the Florida Board of Governors in January for a term ending 2016.

“I am honored that my fellow trustees chose me for this important leadership role at FIU,” Maury said. “Working together, we will take FIU to new heights and even greater accomplishments.”

President and CEO of Leon Medical Centers Health Plans, Maury has an extensive background in health care finance, executive negotiations, budgeting and contracting.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Maury recently received a medallion from FIU for being a staunch advocate for children and for his leadership and work in the community.  The medallion was presented to him by Rosenberg during FIU’s commencement ceremony.  He also served on the board of the Alliance for Aging for six years.

Maury lives in Miami with his wife Silvia and their four children, Alexandra, Steffany, Katerina and Albert, Jr.
