Annual Blue & Gold Spring Game set for April 2

FIU football will host the annual Blue & Gold Spring Game Saturday, April 2, at 10:30 a.m. at FIU Stadium. In addition, your 2010 Sun Belt Conference and Little Caesars Pizza Bowl Champion Panthers will receive their SBC Championship rings in a special ceremony.

Admission to the spring game is free and the first 500 students in attendance will receive a free t-shirt courtesy of Panther Rage. A free breakfast will also be provided, courtesy of the FIU Alumni Association, and the drawing for the spring Panther Points raffle will take place during the event.

FIU is coming off a record-breaking 2010 campaign, as the Panthers shattered several records en route to a program-best seven victories and FIU football’s first-ever Sun Belt Conference title. The Panthers went on to compete in the program’s first-ever bowl game, defeating Toledo in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl for FIU’s first bowl game victory.

Led by reigning SBC Coach of the Year Mario Cristobal, FIU returns 15 starters from the 2010 SBC Championship squad, including the 2010 SBC Player of the Year and 2011 Heisman and All-America candidate T.Y. Hilton.
