Panthers get political

Have you got an FIU-related question for your state representative or senator? Send it to us, and it might be one of the questions we pose to our elected officials.

The Florida House and Senate kick off the 2011 legislative session in Tallahassee next week, and FIU will be front-and-center Wednesday, March 9, at FIU Day.

FIU students and faculty will join FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg and members of the Board of Trustees for a full day of meetings with legislators as they advocate for the university’s legislative priorities. The tradition began 10 years ago to give students and members of the university community a way to voice their concerns about the issues affecting FIU.

This year, organizers are extending that opportunity to everyone in the FIU community. Submit your FIU-related question to the FIU Facebook page or FIU on twitter — members of the Tallahassee Office will select a few to pose to our elected officials. Student leaders will be asking the questions and posting the answers on Twitter and Facebook during FIU Day.

To learn more about FIU’s legislative priorities, please visit the Office of Governmental Relations, @FIUgov on Twitter, or FIU Governmental Relations on Facebook.
