The university and the PGA have partnered again to offer golf fans the opportunity to attend two PGA events in New Jersey and New York in August.

Summer really is the best time to get in the swing of things, and come August the FIU family will have a special opportunity to give back to deserving Panthers, who will be the first generation in their families to earn a college degree, while attending two exciting PGA events.

Based on the previous success FIU had in partnering with the PGA’s Tickets Fore Charity, the university is expanding the relationship and inviting golf fans to purchase tickets for the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship in New York, Aug. 17-21 and The Barclays in New Jersey, Aug. 23-28, at a discounted rate.

One hundred percent of net proceeds from tickets purchased will qualify for a state match go to support the FIU First Generation Scholarship Fund.

“Any day” tickets to the New York and New Jersey tournaments are $20 (a special 50 percent-off rate) and benefit the First Generation Scholarship Fund only when purchased through the following links to the Constellation Energy Senior Players Championship (enter the promo code “8LFHTQ” to support FIU) and to The Barclays (enter “WFF4Z7”). The purchase deadline is Aug. 14.

The goal is to build on the enthusiasm generated by FIU and the PGA, which partnered last winter to make tickets to March’s Cadillac Championships in Doral available to the blue-and-gold community. The initiative raised $1,200 for First Gen scholarships, resulting in a total impact of $2,400 after a state match.
