Wittels finishes his FIU career hitting .352 with 7 HR and 116 RBI in three seasons. This past season, he hit .345 with 4 HR and 40 RBI, including a couple of 10th inning, game-winning home runs against No. 15 Stetson and Arkansas State at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

Wittels put together a 56-game hitting streak in 2010 while hitting .412 and winning the Sun Belt Player of the Year Award.
