FIU to students: Welcome back!

The Class of 2014 is welcomed to last year's Freshman Convocation

The Class of 2015 is more than 2,000 students strong. The university will formally welcome the newest members of its family to FIU at Freshman Convocation, an annual gathering for first-year undergraduate students.

The popular event is set to take place Sunday, Aug. 21, at Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) beginning at 2 p.m. in the U.S. Century Bank Arena. (Click here to check out scenes from last year’s Freshman Convocation.)

The event is a highlight of the university’s Week of Welcome (WOW), eight days of events (Aug. 19-26) that officially mark the beginning of the Fall 2011 semester. Activities range from a Student Government Association Field Day and Panther Rage Fall Sports Kickoff at MMC to a Freshman Luau at Biscayne Bay Campus.
