The Wolfsonian-FIU has named Julian Gomez deputy director for Finance, Administration, and Operations at the museum. A business executive with 20 years of experience; top performance ratings; and extensive know-how in business strategy, financial planning and analysis, business re-structuring and operations management, Gomez will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Wolfsonian relating to finance, administration, operations and strategic planning.

“Julian brings a set of skills to the Wolfsonian that is invaluable to our next phase of growth. His education, experience and interest in being a part of a learning environment make him ideal, especially as we seek to maximize use of our assets, provide greater intellectual and physical access to our collections, and build a sound and viable financial basis to ensure our sustainability,” said Cathy Leff, the museum’s director. “We are so happy to welcome Julian as we prepare for a capital campaign and plan our next phase of growth and expansion.”

Gomez will be involved in shaping and implementing a new five-year strategic plan that will involve the collaboration of the Wolfsonian Advisory Board, museum staff, university community and other museum stakeholders.

Prior to joining The Wolfsonian-FIU, Gomez worked closely with Burger King Corporation’s executive team on the organization’s turnaround, which involved him in everything from financial planning and analysis, to business strategy, re-structuring and IT planning.
