College of Law grads achieve highest bar passage rate in Florida

FIU Law graduates have achieved the top bar passage rate in Florida, according to results from the July 2011 Bar Exam released by The Florida Board of Bar Examiners.

“Thanks to the Worlds Ahead faculty led by Dean R. Alexander Acosta, the FIU College of Law has consistently graduated great lawyers for our community,” said FIU President Mark B. Rosenberg. “This accomplishment speaks to a promise fulfilled to our community for a high quality legal education.”

The FIU Law bar passage rate of 89.6 percent substantially exceeded the statewide average of 80.1 percent.

“On behalf of our faculty, administration and staff, I congratulate our recent graduates for their outstanding accomplishment,” Acosta said. “FIU has consistently ranked at or near the top in bar passage.  Today’s results are a continued tribute to the hard work and dedication of our students and the skills of our faculty.”

The 3rd District Court of Appeal will hold the official swearing-in ceremony for Florida Bar inductees Monday, October 3, in Miami. Following the ceremony, the FIU College of Law will host a congratulatory luncheon for its 120 inductees at the Rafael Diaz Balart Hall located on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus.
