Christine M. Adolf  ’07 is spending a year in Kaduna, Nigeria, as a CUSO-VSO volunteer, exploring how she can use her background in business to empower people living in poverty around the world. It’s already the end of September and I feel like I just arrived. Well, they do say that time flies when you’re having fun. I’ve definitely been enjoying myself here thus far and feel incredibly grateful for this opportunity to live and work in Nigeria.

Since arriving in July, I’ve developed my work plan for the year and have settled nicely into my role with Hope for the Village Child Foundation (HVCF). One of the main tasks I’ve been working on is conducting research into the operations of the organization’s Health section and on-site clinic to see how it can become financially sustainable by the end of 2012.
