Coach Bobby Bowden to speak at FIU Oct. 27

Retired FSU football coach Robert “Bobby” Bowden is a legend.

Come Thursday, Oct. 27, the FIU community will be able to hear stories from the legend himself. Bowden will visit Modesto A. Maidique Campus to share some of the experiences that shaped his 55-year career.

“Bobby Bowden goes beyond the gridiron and teaches his players about life, not just football,” said Nathan Katz, executive director of FIU’s Program in the Study of Spirituality.

The champion – who had only one losing season in 34 years at FSU – will speak about “The Journey of Success Through the Power of Mentoring” from 6-8 p.m. at Rafael Díaz-Balart Hall, Large Courtroom (RDB 1000).

A book sale of Bowden’s Called to Coach will precede his talk. Seating is limited, so click here to RSVP.

This evening with Bowden is sponsored by Program in the Study of Spirituality, FIU Business and Baptist Health South Florida in partnership with FIU Law and the FIU Alumni Association. Admission is free and open to the public.
