Path Awards seek nominations


The Robert Stempel College of Public Health and Social Work at Florida International University is seeking nominations for the Path Awards.

The Paths Awards were established to recognize individuals and organizations in public health, social work, and dietetics and nutrition for their contributions and commitment to promoting and protecting the health of the South Florida community.  The awards serve to raise the community’s awareness and understanding of the contributions made by public health professionals.  Honorees will receive awards based upon their impact in improving the health of the public.

The college is inviting nominations for individuals or organizations that have shown great initiative and dedication for making South Florida healthy. Nomination guidelines and instructions are available at http://pathawards.fiu.edu. Nominations are being accepted for the following categories:

  • Biostatistics
  • Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance
  • Health Promotion and Disease Prevention
  • Environmental/Occupational Health and Public Safety
  • Health Policy and Management
  • Dietetics and Nutrition
  • Social Work

Nominations must be submitted by November 30, 2011.

Awards will be presented at an awards luncheon that will be held on April 18, 2012.
