FIU Theatre’s ‘The House of The Spirits’ opens Nov. 11

FIU Theatre‘s second production of the season brings The House of the Spirits to the Herbert & Nicole Wertheim Performing Arts Center Main Stage at Modesto A. Maidique Campus.

Directed by Michael Yawney, this new play with songs by Caridad Svich is based on the best-selling novel by Isabel Allende, which was adapted into a film in the early 1990s. This re-imagined theatrical adaptation captures the force and sensuality of Allende’s original version.

Frightening and amusing memories illuminate the stage as Alba, the youngest of three generations of women, recalls her family’s rise and fall in Latin America during the Roaring Twenties and ultimately, finds the strength to recover her own story.

The show opens on Thursday, Nov. 11, at 8 p.m. and runs through Sunday, Nov. 20.

Show times are Wednesday-Saturday at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.

Admission ranges between $5-$15. For tickets and more information, visit LivetheArts.com.
