Football’s final home game Nov. 12 against FAU


FIU hosts Florida Atlantic in the 2011 Shula Bowl Saturday, Nov. 12, at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium.

The annual football game between in-state rivals is the last home game of the season, as well as the last home game for wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and quarterback Wes Carroll with the Panthers.

The winner of the Shula Bowl receives a traveling trophy, the “Don Shula Award” for one year. Currently, Florida Atlantic leads the all-time series eight games to one.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, FIU is dedicating game to men and women in uniform and their families. Veterans, active service members and family members of those currently serving are invited to come to the game with a guest free of charge. To claim the two free tickets, veterans need to present a military ID at the University Credit Union Box Office after 2 p.m. on game day.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
