Sleepless Night for the Frost, College of Architecture +The Arts

The Frost Art Museum will take part in Sleepless Night, Miami Beach’s all night arts festival, on Saturday Nov. 5.

The museum is collaborating with the College of Architecture + The Arts to feature a participatory art event and performance by Michael Genovese in front of the college’s new Miami Beach Urban Studios at 420 Lincoln Road.

Genovese is known for his Public Scribing (PS) Project. He places blank canvases in social spaces, and provides styluses for the audience to leave their own messages and images, creating  complex, collaborative documents. Genovese then collects, re-records and transforms them in alternative ways. He wants to capture a range of perspectives during a time of change.

The event begins at 6 p.m. with Genovese’s PS Project. All night long, guests can etch their own thoughts, secrets, or desires on aluminum plates that will be incorporated into a larger project and exhibited at the Frost in the spring.
