Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl Central

The year of the FIU football fan

2011 was the year of the FIU football fan. Throughout the season, Panthers broke attendance records at FIU Stadium. They didn’t let a little rain get in the way of their fun as thousands turned out for the home opener, Sept. 1, to tailgate and watch FIU defeat North Texas. FIU football ended the regular season on a high, setting a program-record with its eighth victory of the season against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders.

Fans showed up in throngs to support their team at the Beef O’Brady’s Bowl in St. Pete. And although, FIU fell to Marshall University, Panthers celebrated their blue-and-gold pride, chanting FF, II, UU until the clock ran out. Relive the fun times at the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl in the video below. Go Panthers!

Panthers fall to Marshall at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl

A blocked punt by Marshall in the fourth quarter set up what proved to be the game-winning field goal as the FIU Panthers fell, 20-10, Tuesday night in the 2011 Beef  O’ Brady’s Bowl in St. Petersburg.

“We won eight games this year. [FIU head] coach [Mario] Cristobal has done a great job with our team on and off the field,” senior T.Y. Hilton said. “There are a lot of great players, and we have made great strides and come a long way over the last four years.”
